Its all about keeping you away , nothing more
No one owns the water , its to be shared , there are some out there that feel entitlement but as you see i feel different . At this time id like to apologize to members for my behavior in the video as it was inappropriate and out of line .

Hey Peter it may help the rest of us to understand the situation if you would let us know what the sign said that the angry fellow kept pointing to it looked to me that he thought you were violating something on that sign ( since we couldn't really hear what he was saying clearly ) keep up the FINE work on this board !!!!!!!!!!!! Peter you always seem to be very polite and proper. You keep your voice down when you talk on your videos and that is obviously to avoid disturbing the locals in case they are sleeping or having a coffee in their backyards. That's very classy and nice of you. I think you've been trying to live in peace and harmony there for a long time, and been 99.9% successful in doing so! The incident this morning might have been the fault of those people that you mention were launching a rubber dinghy there. That is what I can decipher from the video. It is illegal to launch boats of any kind at the end of Gilford Road as I recall. You can set me straight if I am wrong. Keep up the good work Peter. I hope you regain TOTAL PEACE very soon.

The only inappropriate or "out of line" behaviour was in front of the camera, not behind it. People who get uppity deserve to have their B.S. called out. You weren't crude or coarse or in any way out of line. You were a lot more cool and even-tempered than many would have been. Standing your ground is the only way to get a would-be bully to back off. If he thinks people are being too loud in a public place, he can be more diplomatic about it (i.e. ask them nicely to keep the noise down). If he thinks they're breaking the law, he can call police.
Footnote: Dumb move to buy a house near a boat launch if you want peace and quiet.

Good for you Peter.
We've gone through the same BS on Rondeau Bay for years..local homeowners who feel they own the water in front of their places. We've had them throw rocks at us when we were crappie fishing the canals in the spring.
We comfirmed with the MNR and OPP that as long as we wern't anchored or tied up, we had the right to be there . We called the OPP twice. Once the officer did the suck thing and asked us to leave to maintain public peace (BS). The next time the officer told the owners if they didn't stop they would be charged.
Sometimes you have to stand up to bullies like that guy.
You were much more polite than I would have been
BRAVO!!!

The sign says no boat launching . Huh? I thought the end of Gilford Rd. had a public boat launch. In any case, he seemed to be complaining about noise, not boat launching. How much noise could a dinghy make?

Guys in Dinghy probably used electric air pump to inflate everything. Even then they're not so ridiculously loud that it'd warrant this guy risking a heart attack.

not that i'm siding with those crazy people, but if there's a sign forbidding boat launching, why was it ok for them to launch? just trying to understand.

The gates make sure that you cant back a trailer down to the water , dragging an inflatable or a canoe down, i don't see a problem with that . people have been doing it for a long time , hunters in the fall, early morning husband and wife that want to get some canoeing in and explore Cook's Bay . personally i like to stop and talk to our guests and offer them any help that i can , like were the fish are... Would you like to talk about the use the end of Gilford Rd gets during the winter, we can do that to . What i don't like is rude people that do not mind there own business when it doesn't involve them .
