I would really love to see this catch on in tired of seeing so many carp start over populating some of my favourite fishing spots

I would like to see this segment of the sport grow as well, but I fear with enough people zipping around with bows eventually someone will ruin it and get the laws changed.

Better keep it in the hands of ppl that know what they are doing. And that's not me ... It's not so much about knowing what you are doing. It's great to learn new things It's the interactions with public and remaining calm when dealing with them. We get yelled at a lot. It's easy to lose your cool. It scares some people. Some people think you are breaking the law. Some people really don't agree with harvesting animals. Some think it's cool as sh@t.

I can see ppl starting to fish this way because it's "cool" but not actually harvesting Any of these fish. Bow fishing looks fun hopefully it doesn't get out of hand. I can see needing a license very soon for a bow. Hopefully it happens

The "cool" guys would be easily frustrated and weeded out I'm sure.

I'm pretty well licensed and did courses to harvest anything in Ontario and you want to add to the bureaucracy by adding bow fishing and add too my already overburdened expense . For an invasive species such as carp ? Please don't promote anything to fill the governments coffers that they don't return in any way . Ministry of No Resources is a total cash grab going to the The Treasurer of Ontario . Most of what they return to MNR is to do studies on things that have been studied to death already and little to stocking or enforcement as promised . Heck, most stocking is done by volunteer organizations with a pencil pusher from Queens Park as the overseer just to take credit . It sickens me as it should you too . TD

I don't see any problem with the uneaten carp....leave them in the bush..let animals eat them...
It's better than release...
I know it's illegal so I cant recommend..but .... the overpopulation is a bigger concern...by overpopulation I mean relative to the enormous effects on other fish habitat.
Large sections of rice lake...like acres were all muddied by carp..driving out other fish looking to spawn..
