The pike in Cooks Bay suffered from the same fate as crappie. The white bucket fishermen from certain enthnic groups fished them out. Quite a bold statement for someone who registered 4 days ago .... Thank god my bucket is orange otherwise i would take it personal ...

so im guessing a lot of people are having bad luck with pike. Do you guys think the pike are heading out deeper or are they still in the shallows.

I think they're heading deeper mid day. 3 weekends ago they were all over in the shallows after 9-10 am. This weekend have not noticed them except early mornings and in the evenings. I'm guessing summer pattern. On my cottage lake i noticed this happening as soon as carp starts rolling and spawning in the shallows.

I seem to have been lucky around ambush areas: rock points with vegetation and about 6-8 feet of water. Again not on Simcoe. But that might work ...

are you talking about cooks bay though. Im usually fishing the mouth of the holand river maybe the fish have moved deeper because it has been slow in that area.

Nope not Simcoe. Just wanted to put out some ideas for similar places as cook's bay.

How was the crappie fishing in Holland River this year? Those meat hunters used to fill their white buckets with small crappies. The pike fishing is similar.

I know if I was from an ethnic background I would be insulted. personally I have seen just as many "white" ppl as "ethnic" ppl keeping over they're limit regardless of what fish. I have a white bucket n I'm a fisherman.....

Wasn't there a tourney this past Sunday? Did everyone get skunked? Yes there was a tourney good fish brought in. was not there but i have the results: top 3 weights were 26.83lbs, 23.29lbs, 19.53lbs only 1 out of 14 teams got skunked. Was not limited to the bay but thats where they launched.

Ok! I take back my white bucket commments. There is no doubt the fishing pressure is affecting the fishing quality of Cooks Bay.

They are up shallow 2-5 fow . Make some noise. lipless cranks, spinnerbait and spoons will produce. If they are picky use a wobbler
