Sure is foggy. Went down and took a look myself. Beautiful day for fishing. It's a shame I'm on nights and heading to bed now to sleep the day away.

Its December 1st......time to get this show on the road.....Welcome to the Cooks Bay Fishing Board safe ice reports . Starting today we pump out ice reports so you dont have to guess , for 10 years the cbfb reports how its coming along , when its safe will give the word , theres no reason for you to take a chance ,thats what were here for to make sure no one jumps the gun . Today the cbfb reports open water with no skim ice to be seen anywere on Cooks Bay.... You have stated you have some ice reports for the last ten yrs, that's great for the ones waiting to hear it from you. On other hand No ice is safe ice! Have to ask, how would you personally feel if someone took your advise that "ITS SAFE GUYS GO" and something tragic happened? Just saying that's a HUGE burden if you ask me. How can just your sole opinion on such a unsure topic be acurrate. No disrespect by any means. Your own statements could really give the wrong idea to many anglers wanting to go ice fishing. So your aware I have over 35 yrs of fishing hard/soft water and would never trust one source to any conditions on any body of water. Stay safe and Hope no bad comes from info on such unstable conditions.

Some people are niave, gullable and followers which usually ends in lawsuits and someone getting hurt. Can take this as me being a Azzhole or good advise your choice. Check and double check! I could never be able to handle it if someone lost there life on my watch...

That might be a question for other boards that have safe ice contests , here on the cbfb i go down to Cooks Bay every morning and watch what its doing , i wont go on the ice right away , i give it some time to grow before even trying to get some test holes , you can bet its safe before i say anything , some times its hard to keep the guys away even before i feel its safe . Just trying to help as the last thing anyone wants is to go ice fishing and find yourself in trouble . Dont you think ice reports are better then no ice reports ?

The key is watching what the bays doing every day , if that wasent the case there would be no ice reports as id just be guessing , i dont guess what theice will do ,i know what it does , big difference but dont take my word for it , please .
