Is that fountain to the left of the gate in Gilford responsible for the crack in the ice close to the shore. ?

I was on YouTube yesterday just scrolling threw some vids and came across Saturday's "blue ice report", they're basically promoting the stupid water fountain, thanking someone off camera for doing it and that people really enjoy it. So don't be surprised if it returns next season

I posted about this in December. I was told by other members that it was nothing harmful, and I didn't know what I was talking about, and should leave the guy alone and mind my own business. I'm just glad this resident's stupidity didn't end with someone getting hurt, or worse.

It still might hurt someone yet, with this warm thaw coming up and people still willing to venture out (you can't blame them with a a foot and a half of ice still), we could see a dramatic increase of unstable ice around the shoreline area if it's creating any kind of current under the ice, I've fell through due to underwater currents before with 20 inches of ice still around me....something really should be done about this

So much for my idea of retirement in the Gilford area in 4 years, If only I could talk the mrs to move farther North, like bush country. Why is it most people living near the lakes don't like anyone fishing move there you have to kind of expect it lol

I don't like to beat on about this but I went through the ice last Saturday 28th trying to cross the pressure crack that that thing had made worse, More unsettling was the fact that the people from that house seemed to be getting a kick out of making a video of the event. My wife was afraid to cross but she eventually crossed where the water spout is which was treacherous to say the least. The people from that house had eventually waved to us for her to cross there. But, as she crossed with me holding her hand the lady from that house videoed us again almost in expectation of both of us going through the ice. Needless to say. I will be lodging a complaint to the authorities about the water spout.

What is needed here is a Cook's Bay Anglers Association that not only educates local anglers on regulations, and conservation, but acts as a voice for our common interests (continued access to the lake). This issue has gotten way out of hand, and nobody is representing the anglers, or businesses that depend on fishing for their livelihood. I promise you that if we don't speak out now, there will be no access to the lake left in Innisfil. I've tried talking to the mayor about this but he blew me off. An anglers association could act as a voice for our concerns. If we went to the mayor and said there are 300 voting anglers that are not happy with your management of this situation, it would get noticed. I'd be willing to start up this project if I knew I had the support of the local anglers.
