Seems like there is always one in the crowd that wants to take away or freedom. I remember a little man in the 40s that did this.
As a visiter of your area I don't appreciate someone taking this away. This person or persons have nothing better to do. What's next!!

Im thinking one or more sat around a table and actual came up with this idea of selling off surplus road ends , i can tell you now this person or persons are not conservationist, the bottom line is money for the town at the expense of you and me . Im a local in the town of Innisfil, i don't appreciate this counter productive b.s. Here we all are trying to promote Innisfil , trying to get you to come visit, the towns trying to come up with ways to stop your enjoyment when you get here by trying to take away your access to the water . How about the winter time when as you know Innisfil leads the way with first ice , just imagine having your favorite access point closed ...

Member Kanuck found this,,,thanks man.
Innisfil's public access points to Lake Simcoe safe for now .
This public lake access at the end of Lockhart Road is one of several in Innisfil. Residents gave councillors an earful earlier this month at the slightest suggestion of selling any of the areas to neighbouring residents.
Innisfil Journal
By Rick Vanderlinde
Innisfil politicians found out earlier this month how passionate residents are about maintaining as much public access to Lake Simcoe as possible.
Public concern was raised following a town report that suggested road endings that provide access to the lake could be sold off in the future. Councillors such as Ken Simpson who represent lakeside communities said they received several calls from residents demanding the town keep all its public access areas. Resident Ken Hore said the public road ending on Edgewood Avenue in Alcona is used year round. “It serves as a convenient and enjoyable way to access our lake. Sometimes people just like to sit by the water and enjoy the view,” Hore said. “It would be a shame if it was taken away from us.” Council voted unanimously against closing and selling off road closures in the immediate future. But they did not close the door entirely on the possibility the areas, some of which also act as beaches, would not be sold eventually. The town’s master recreation plan, which should be completed next year, may pinpoint some extraneous parkland the recreation department no longer requires. Council will than decide if that land should be offered for sale to neighbouring residents. But the road ends may become untouchable based on the passionate plea for their protection from some residents. According to a staff report, residents can oppose the sale of municipally-owned land. “I have often told out-of-towners that the town has had great foresight in keeping the road ends so that all residents have access to the lake,” Karen Lindsay of Big Bay Point said. “These road ends are the reason I bought my house here. Please don’t take them away.”Lakefront residents who live next to the road access points have made offers to the town to buy the park areas. Deputy Mayor Dan Davidson said many of those residents often endure loud and unruly behaviour by visitors to the access points

Welcome. That was June 17 article. Perhaps the author and any and all press (ctv) Barrie) could be invited to a shoreline tour on one of your boats and shown the various public access point that are available. Seeing these valuable parcels from water would be helpful to all. While you are at it invite local councillors and mayor and most important your MPP. Video the whole tour. Maybe arrange a larger comfortable boat. You have the charisma to pull this together Peter. Good luck. A post script. As a farmer in my area we actually have a tour every year. Planners politicians and all the staff involved along with local press are put on a bus and tour actual farm businesses Where all can actually understand by getting "boots on the ground" Followed up with a BBQ. Folks listen better on a full stomach. Maybe a perch fry. ,?

Time to find out who is marking up this master recreation plan, should it eliminate some road ends the recreation department no longer requires, there going to have to deal with us .
