We whent out last Friday morning for a little shoot. Managed to get 13 Canada's. haven't seen the geese group up in larger flocks yet but hopefully the weather cools off and they start to pour into the fields. Haven't seen too many ducks either as the 28th isn't too far away! Anyone else having success?
Happy hunting!

Went out with a long time hunting bud sunday morning! Headed to a field an set up at 530am, Tons of birds flying but we were not in the ''spot'' they wanted to feed in. Managed to knock down 1 with my new extrema 2 shotgun. It was 60yds out. Not bad for 1st shot with it. After watching countless numbers of flocks I managed to call in 3 an put them in the sights at 25yds. I took 2 shots 2 birds fell stone dead. My ''bud'' that was with me was to busy I guess with dinner in his head, he completely missed the goose! WTH? He said everytime he was ready to shoot on a bird I knocked it down. lol By the time he got to the last bird he was out to la la land! Couldn't get focused on it. So that bird was a survior. We packed up shortly after that and headed home! All in all it was a good entertaining morning. Its not always about how many you get its the memories created by the time well spent. Sorry no pics. Next time I will take the camera. flip Nice to see you guys got out skip'

That's great Flippin!
I went out scouting this morning to try and find an evening hunt or one for tomorrow morning but not much luck. Spotted some small flocks but nothing of any size worth setting up all the gear for anyways. It's been tough so far trying to find where these buggers are going as not many to o crops have come off yet. If you ever need a human dog to run down your birds or looking for a hunting partner I'm always looking to get out. I'll keep you posted if I find something worth setting up for !!!!!!!
Cheers!

5 Days of hunting here on Rice Lake and managed 20 Honkers. Some larger flocks of 15-20 are starting to show up. Hunting solo except for opener with a buddy from work when we managed 6. 25lbs of meat already at the butcher for bratwurst sausage. Lots of woodies and mallards. They make my finger flinch when they skirt the decoys. Hopefully they stick around for the Heritage Day Youth hunt on the 21st. Mentoring a new hunter for the morning.
Shoot straight not often.
Cheers Big Jig

WTG with getting the geese, Never tried making ''bratworsts'' out of them. Maybe I will give it a try this yr. Good on you for mentoring new hunters, Helps keeps the sport alive! I found in the kawartha's much better into late sept early oct. Unless of course you get a heavy east wind, than all hell breaks loose. Good luck this season an keep your posts an pics coming. flip
