DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE IN HERE FOR SERVICE!!! I was gifted a 2010 with 15,000km on it by my grandmother. I then made the mistake of taking it in to this store for certification (mainly the convenience factor in relation to my work). The vehicle was deemed "unsafe for the road" as it needed new brakes (Brakes get done typically between 60,000km & 80,000km). They then tried to up sell me on the brakes. It was going to cost 1,000$ to put a brand new car on the road if I had proceeded. They also told me that the car could not pass safety as it had no gas cap but the vehicle is equipped with a built in gas cap (Quick fill model as manufactured by ford). I took the car up the road to a reputable dealer to have it certified after paying canadian tire 115$ for their "SERVICES" and the vehicle was promptly passed at the dealership with no hassle not to mention a complimentary car wash and it cost me 118$ total taxes in. Canadian tire is nothing shy of a bunch of cons in the automotive section. Beware and stay clear of that place. You've been warned. I don't even want to think about how many people have been conned by this greasy tech looking to make a few extra easy book hours on his paycheck. The management could care less about the customer as I've been trying to get my money back for the terrible service I was provided with. It's been three weeks of constant follow ups and them passing the buck avoiding the situation. I've been told several times I will receive a phone call but that never happens. These guys need to shape up and actually care about the customer for once. I for one will never spend another penny at this canadian tire location.
I really messed up, don't do the same. I'm glad it was only a few dollars that I'm out but I'd rather it be back in my pocket.
