went for a qiuck trip to lowes to get a new ceiling light before I move,in the store no longer than 15 minutes, get back to my truck and both locks are frozen,as the wife stays warm in lowes I take a quick jog over to canadian tire, with lock de-icer in hand I jog back to lowes,my ears are just thawing out now, lesson learned carry lock de-icer at all times.

next time in C T grab a can of fluid film. use the thin red tube that comes taped to the can to spray it in the key holes, on the latch itself and on the hinges. been using the stuff for years with great success. do this every oil change or three months. gets a little stiff at minus 50 but never freezes.

I had the same trouble today Howie, I went down to the lower niagara this morning for some steelies ( boy what a mistake) colder then a biotch and no fish, by the time I walked back up to the truck I was frozen, to add insult to injury the lock's were frozen. No stores anywhere with in walking distances and didnt know what to do so I cut the fingers out of my gloves and placed the main section of the glove over the key hole, I continued to blow hot air inside and with in 15 minutes I had the door opened. A lesson learned today " get de-icer"

Okay, so which pocket is going to be designated for the lock de icer, put it in the car and it's locked inside ;D. Get some spray gun oil like G-96 and give it a shot in the late fall, good for the whole winter. When going to the car wash, don't pressure wash the door locks, you'll find out pretty quick.

When you get the de-icer don't leave it in the glove box! I agree with Fisherman......G 96 is the best...
