Thanks mto502 EVERYONE should read this. I seen it a little while ago and let my wife see it and now she is thinking of switching our house back. Besides we spent a fortune on these bulbs and did not notice any savings in our hydro bill.

I've been running them for at least a couple of years now as well, but I think mine are Noma's. I even use them for the pot lights on the outside of the house ( 7 of them ) and this is their second winter. So far so good.

Despite claims to the contrary, it seems that CFLs--despite their higher cost--don't last longer than incandescents. I have read about their short lifespans elsewhere. (Did you know that U.S. president Bush signed a law in Dec. 2007 that will make incandescent bulbs illegal in a few years?). Also, they contain mercury, which is a toxin, and special cleanup techniques must be used if a CFL breaks; a woman in the U.S. had to block off a room in her house when she couldn't afford the EPA cleanup after a CFL broke. I guess I'll just keep my throw aways and take them to the dump with my used oil, etc?

You got me thinking (and that's a bad thing ) so I checked our bulbs ant they are also noma. Is there any problems with the noma or is it just the style in the article Apparently it's just the brand/part number in the article.
