What kind of set up do people have at home to clean their catch? I clean my catch in the kitchen in the corner where two counters meet. I use a 1 inch wooden cutting board that is raised about 1 inch off the counter top. This allows me to skin my fillets without any interference. Also to my left side I have access to a double sink which comes in very handy. At the top of the cutting board I place a kitchen garbage bag that I toss all the waste material in. Along with my electric fillet knife this makes fish cleaning really easy and clean up is a snap.

Good setup, only thing I would change is to get a teflon board, wife might get a bit antsy if I used the wooden one.

The wooden board that I use is dedicated for fish cleaning. It gets stored in the garage after clean up...this keeps my wife happy. I prefer wooden over teflon because the fish do not slide around as much during cleaning.

Hey Nocod
My wife did not want me cleaning fish in the house until I convinced her that there would be no smell. When I am done cleaning the fish and cleaning up the counter and sink, I wipe every thing down with Vanilla Extract. This kills all of the fish smell. I even pour a little down the sink drains. Now the kitchen has a sweet smell and every once in a while I find my young kids smelling the counter top. LOL You can even rub some in your hands and the fish smell is gone.
