Started getting gear ready so am ready when safe ice arrives.
My Eskimo Shark Z71Q10 has developed a gas leak through the cracked grommet where the fuel line passes out the gas tank. Turns out Eskimo augers are know for this gas leak issue.
The part is $3 in the US or $15 to $20 for the fuel line kit (includes the rubber grommet, a fuel filter and a few inches of fuel line) in the US.
Since most US companies won't ship out of the main 48, I can only find the part on Amazon for $50. Copies from China can be bought for about $10, but don't know how long before arrival of item, plus quality and correct fit are a gamble.
Does anyone know of a Canadian dealer for Eskimo Ice Augers where parts can be purchased?
$50 for a $3 part on a $500 or less machine seams unfair. Especially considering how many ice augers are owned in Canada, and most are reported to get this issue every few years. So even this $50 fix might only last 5 years again. Reaching out if there are other options, if need to pay the $50 (plus tax) to get OEM, or if I need to do a MacGyver a fix for under $10.

Was a great day. Found the parts for the Eskimo auger in Oshawa. Got very helpful info from staff at Gagnon's, advising to visit Crown Maintenance in Oshawa. Crown Maintenance had the fuel line kit, and sold at proper amount. Store was a great find.
