Will you be ice fishing this season when it's safe to do so ? Will you let covid stop you as well as where you will be ice fishing?
Need to sign in to answer the poll question

Going ice fishing when it's safe? Here's the plan, no talking, pretty simple plan don't talk to anyone walking out to the ice, somebody stops you and ask you where you're from, answer nicely, no speak a d English ,then keep walking, video cameras allways good to have on hand , remember no talking .

I live in Innisfil I will be fishing. If i wear mask and my friends where a mask should be ok. Usually fishing with a buddy anyways so just have to be safe about it and be aware of to many people around you. If there is a shelter you might have have to consider it as a house hold to gather so you might have to only have your family in the shelter. My friend will have his own shelter anyways. If I live in Innisfil is it ok to fish in Barrie or cooks Bay. It is crazy to even think that this is happening.

I’ll be fishing. Not a chance someone will stop me. If I have to I’ll show them I’m native. An no I’m not one of the natives blocking roads or train tracks. I just wanna fish.

I will be fishing in my own portable ice hut with my wife. If friends want to fish near me they'll have to get there in their own vehicles. We can meet up in an area on the ice and everyone can sit on their own bucket and fish 2 metres apart.

Definitely! I will be fishing with my girlfriend and my buddy lives in Oro-Medonte so he will drive his own vehicle and sit in his own hut. Nothing was stopping me from hunting this season so why all the fuss about getting out on the ice! Play it smart and use common sense. Tight Lines 🎣

I will be ice fishing as soon as the ice is safe. I will not be wearing a mask and hiding in my basement taking antidepressants watching CBC and CNN.

I dont think there is an issue with fishing, it will be when the hut operators pack 4-6 people in the huts from different areas, families etc. I think alot of you are just anticipating the worst. Stop your whining and go fish

Spoke with a reputable operator on Lake Nippissing and she said that currently there are two rules in place - if you booked before November 20th you are good to go or if you have members from the same household in the hut together you're also okay. This is all in place until January 9th when the lockdown for the north ends unless it gets extended. She said that they can rent to anyone as they are not responsible for checking on their clients situation and tickets will be issued to the individuals that have rented and not to the operator

Not sure but I'm guessing the same applies to Lake Simcoe

I suspect they're going to have authority at the shoreline asking questions, if it's the township asking you direct questions, look at them and say, no speak a a a d English, then go ice fishing, just make sure you're wearing your mask when you say that

As soon as I can safely, legally fish. I fully intend on doing so. Nothing better for the mind than a day on the water. Hard or soft water. Love it

Never gave it a second thought, yes....definitely ice fishing! The suppression machine works through our friendly News stations, if you want the stuff CTV and Global are paid to suppress.... try REBELNEWS. If you get a COVID ticket search “fight the fines canada”

Just an FYI for you
Should you run into authority that gives you a hard time and worse gives you a ticket for whatever reason, we here on the cooks Bay fishing board simply put, has your back. As an ice fishing community we will do whatever it takes to support you and your situation, will raise a couple bucks if needed for your defense, will expose those that try to stop us from ice fishing. Remember if somebody comes up to you and ask you if you're local to the ice that you're fishing, remember to answer them this way, no speak aaaddd English
