Hey guys I just bought a 14 foot aluminum boat in September still planning on using it but was wondering how to winterize the motor. Have done it with my neighbors boat before just unsure how to go about this motor. I think the motor was made in 1986 it's an older mercury with blue stripe around it and it's 7.5 HP. Can some one help me out please.

Gas staybalizer is the way to go , let the motor run a bit until its well lubed , next spring you should be good to go .

And do the lower unit - take off prop, pump in new oil until it pushes out old, watch seals for leakage.

Put stabilizer in the fuel then run it for a bit ao it gets in the carb.unhook the fuel line to your motor and let it run till it quits. Take your sparkplugs out and spray fogging oil down them. Put plugs back in and done. Change lower unit oil. Itll smoke when u start it back up next season that's the fogging oil burning off

In my experience helps reduce "varnish" build up affecting float assembly
