South Simcoe Police officers are currently investigating a missing person occurrence.
Innisfil firefighters rescue... On Oct. 21, police were called to an abandoned vehicle on the 4th Line of Innisfil near Lake Simcoe.
Working with Toronto Police, officers have learned that the registered owner of the vehicle had attended the Innisfil area last Monday (Oct. 17) to fish on Lake Simcoe, but didn’t return home.
Working with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton, officers from the South Simcoe Police and York Regional Police Marine Units are currently conducting a coordinated search of Lake Simcoe.
Missing is: Halai Li, 57-years-old from Toronto.
He is described as a male Asian, 5'9" (175 cm), 165 lbs (75 kg), black hair, brown eyes. Unknown clothing.
Marine officers did locate a Kayak adrift on Lake Simcoe earlier this week, but have been unable to confirm that it was the vessel used by Li while fishing.
The search is continuing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police at (705) 436-2141 or (905) 775-3311.

Very sad. Rain was unbelievable on Monday. Wind really picked up as well. Weather kept me off the lake that day.
