Hi Guys,
I'm looking for some advise on areas to hunt for birds. I'd like to re-start hunting for partridge/grouse and bring my daughter, who enjoys the outdoors like myself, along.
In year's past every fall I would go partridge/grouse hunting with my father up in the New Liskeard area and since his passing I haven't done it in a while. My daughter has expressed interest in joining me (not yet of legal age to hunt), but I would like to find an area closer by. I'm not looking for a gps coordinate or for a "honey hole" or favorite trail, I'm just looking for some advise on where to start to look for one.
If possible I'd like to go somewhere within say an hour's drive of Keswick (where I could go and come back the same day), but don't know where to start to look. Should I be looking at maps of snowmobile trails? Any advise/assistance would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to get my young daughter to experience hunting, being in nature, and spending some quality outdoor time with me as I did with my father.
Thanks

www.svca.on.ca/map.phpyou can try these forests but southern grouse are way harder then northern grouse......hope you've been to the trap/skeet range recently. I can usually get a few flushes and maybe get a shot off.
