More of a boating question than a fishing one, but does anybody ever anchor and go swimming off of snake or fox island? I was thinking of taking my family there for the day to go swimming while i did a little fishing.

Fished there today Rob, and on the way back, the water in between snake island and main land was full of boats anchored off. Some were tanning, some were swimming, and of course, some were fishing! Water was gin clear, and held fish! For those wondering.

If i understand correctly, the water between the island and the main land is a sandy bottom and is only a few feet deep?

I wouldn't say all sand. It's mixed with rocks(boulders) where we passed through. But it may be more sandy the closer you park to the island.(not sure) As we passed more through the middle, and it seemed that the boats were in fact closer to Snake.

Sorry Rob, as for depth, the sonar was seeing anywhere from 3-5 FOW
