Hey All,
Is there a shop or individual that the team here will take their motor to repair/service?
I am buying a boat from a really good friend of mine but he says that the boat has been sitting for 2 years. It's an Evinrude 90 and from 1982. He also said that it probably needs a service and maybe to rebuild the carburetor.
Behavior: When boat is neutral it is fine, when you engage the throttle and give it gas, it boggs down and basically moves very slow. Carbureator? fuel valve maybe?
Thanks in advance guys. Hope this is something that is not too much to fix.

It sounds like it could be a few things could be a stuck float but if it sat that long probably got gummed up carbs. A rebuild of the carbs isnt hard and the kits to rebuild them are fairly cheap but if your not into repairing it any local marina can do it for you. Or ask someone on a local lake where they go.im not from the area so i have no idea .goodluck

Anyways, just as an FYI for the community, I came across Randy in Georgetown that seems to be a Marine Mechanic specialist. I have an apt booked to carry the boat to him later this month. Hopefully it is a simple fix and I will be in Cook's Bay shortly after Thanks again.
