True Kingphoenix. Not too cool commending these "dudes" on their killer OOS bass day Peter.
O well, life goes on.

Thy were still nice fish weather in season or not , in this case not . Sorry Peter but I dont believe those guys were after pike with the pride and amount of bass they were showing off. (at the beginning they said they were fishing for perch and bass) Even still you are supposed to get them back ASAP (ie unhook without taking them out of the water) MNR has repeatedly said that taking it out of the water and taking a pic goes against the regs. If you are catching that many bass you need to change baits or move and fish elsewhere. The regs are there to maintain this amazing fishery we all enjoy and they arent hard to follow. Heres a video i saw the other day really shows you how fast those other predators will move in on the beds

All of what king said, plus, you rarely target pike with 2" twistertail jigs. Nuff said.

It saddens me to see support for Out of season fishing (if even only by a few days). If they were after bass they could have easily driven to the kawarthas, Zone 17, where bass opened last week.

Thy were still nice fish weather in season or not , in this case not . It says right in the regs, if you catch a fish out of season and take a picture of it, it counts as targeting that species.

See this, www.oodmag.com/fishing/qa-can-take-picture-caught-fish-closed-season/and this letter from MNR taken from another source online: Quote from: MNR Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. The regulations state that if you catch a fish species for which the season is closed, you are required to release it immediately back into the water in a manner that causes the least harm to the fish. If you were to take a photo of the fish in question, this would not constitute an immediate release, resulting in a violation under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (FWCA). Also, fish that are not immediately released count toward your possession limit which could lead to an additional violation (i.e. keeping a fish that is out-of-season). We hope you find this information helpful. If you require further assistance please contact the Natural Resources Information Centre at 1-800-667-1940. As my buddy pulls it out of the water to unhook I take a quick pic . No harm no foul and the CO will have a hard time to get a conviction with a common sense JP .It's still a grey area .

TD I bet your right, you would not be in trouble for accidentally catching an out of season bass and photographing its instant release. The 2 in the video however would be a ton of crap. After the first catch and photo they kept targeting the bass. His word dont fool me. If you stay in the same area and keep using the same bait you will get same results. Thats what they did. They could be charged with Peters video evidence!!!

I never fish for fish out of season (opening day gets me pumped haha) however I don't see the harm in a green fisherman catching one taking a picture and releasing it right away. Me myself have never heard of a co charging someone for a picture have you guys?

They should charged with Peters video evidence!!! Easy now thick. We're not looking for any prosecutions as a result of the post. These forums are a place for discussion, rants, and general rif raff talk. It's been pointed out by several here already. Peters obviously realizes where the screw up is now, hence the reason he hasn't piped up since. So basically, it's nice to see that most abide by the regs as they should, and hopefully some word got out to the 2 "dudes" that were in the video. Will it change their ways?, Most likely not, but the world keeps on rolling, and eventually it'll catch up to them. It's all about that lovely "K" word!
