Hey guys,
Long time lurker but first post!
Quick question. Are there any ice hut operators actually out on ice yet? Either Simcoe or any of the more northern lakes (say, within a 2 hour drive of Simcoe)?
Given the Simcoe conditions, my usual guy is still down for the count.
Looking for perch or similar.
Thanks for any input.
Denise

I was out with Tim Hale in Beaverton on Tuesday. 8inch of solid ice. Fishing was ok for perch....not huge numbers but some monster fish.

I called Casey's to book a hut for this weekend, but was told he's booked solid right through till March. The only openings he has is weekdays, so it seems he's in full operation.

Also board member flippin posted this:
Willow Beach Opened up last night in the winds and warm temps. Anywhere on big (Main) lake I personally would NOT GO.... Its possible any ice out that way could shift and you could be on it. Stick to the bay for now.. Until further "Notice" I'm going to bring my boat back home, Maybe I will get to the whitefish and trout now.. I personally don't think it will be safe now at all this year up there.. To much rain and warm temps to freeze it up now. I hope I eat but words but..... I don't think so.
