Hi all, I've been reading this Site for a while and thought I'd start participating. I travel from Brantford to Lindsay regularly for work, and thought I could start making a detour on my way home for a few hours of ice fishing. My options (I think) would be scugog, south Shore of Simcoe (Virginia Beach, etc), or Keswick side of cooks bay. My questions are: which area would be the most accessible for walking out and where would I be able to park, which area would give me the most likely chance for fish (perch) given I would only have a few hours. Thanks in advance for he help.

On the keswick side, your only shot for walking out is at Rayners Rd. Problem being you can't park there legally, BUT, the street before, Medina, is where you can park legally. Weird shit, but yea! Then from there, you don't have to walk too far out to get onto some perch action. Now I will tell you, this advice was true for last year...... Just hope things haven't changed.

Rayners road at the boat launch is the best spot to walkout from in my opinon. there is a parking place right before the launch it's a dirt area but i don't know if you can park there in the winter but i know you can in the summer. another place is Old homestead road at the very end. you can walkout there its a little steep but nothing to much but the problem is there is no legal parking close to it. if you can take a few hours and drive along lake drive and check out all the places its also a very scenic drive if i think of some more places ill post them here

Thanks guys, it sounds like parking is a common problem. Is there no parking pass option to buy? I went a few years ago to Hadden rd (?) and parked on the ice, but that isn't a consistent option. Is is possible in the area you mentioned? I drive a company truck so I would need to be very careful about parking on the lake. I'd rather walk a while than explain the expensive car wash! Looking at a map, I guess beaverton might be an option as well.

There is no parking pass you can buy. you must be a resident of georgina. i know there is parking at rayners road in the summer because you have to put your trailer somewhere but i don't know if you can park there in the winter... people illegally park all over that place there too it shouldn't be too hard to find a parking spot. what dishmando said about parking at medina i think would be your best bet. just remember keep an eye open for the no parking signs because the town likes to give out tickets when ever they can.

I know a few spots along that strip. Where fishing is good and places to park free. But I won't put it up on open board. Shoot me a pm and I will give you a spot that will last you all winter. flip
