Do atv’s survive these drownings? Does anything have to be pulled apart and drained or just start her up and continue on?

That was riding in trails and not the lake. Had to change the oil a few times and the air filter. Water and oil don't make a good lubricant X

Do atv’s survive these drownings? Does anything have to be pulled apart and drained or just start her up and continue on? When you get the bike out of the water (summer mud bog or winter lake) for the love of god and your valves, pull the spark plug(s), stand the quad up on its back end if the exhaust was underwater and not running to drain the pipe and muffler. Then when back down on the ground spark plug still out, hit the starter to pump any water out. If you don’t, when you hit the starter button you will bend valves and other ex$pen$ive things in your top end. Water does NOT compress!!!! Also drain the carb float bowl if not fuel injected and check the oil for the milky water bearing death. If it’s milky yes it will take running it for a few minutes and changing the oil a few times till the water is gone. Just use the cheapest oil you can find to flush it out till gone. No point in dumping $$$ synthetic to flush water out of the engine. My buddies brother thinks his atv must be part seadoo because it says bombardier on it. We’ve towed him out of more mud holes where he shouldn’t have gone than I can count any more. Getting pretty handy at trail side flood repairs because of him.

I heard that 2 ATV's went down last week while I was on vacation. Anyone knows if this is true? If so, where did they go down?
