Hi
I am hoping you can help. I plan on taking my wife and kids ice fishing tomorrow hoping to catch perch. Is there anywhere I can fish that has open washrooms near shore?
I see there are parks (like Innisfil Beach Park) but believe their washrooms are closed for winter.
I need this to be a good experience so any help would be appreciated!

Hi fishyfabs, I have spent 1,000's of hours outside during the winter and summer. One of the most enjoyable experiences in my life was outdoors for a month and I never saw a washroom. From a very young age we camped and hiked. There was never a washroom nearby and never once was our experiences enjoyment compromised because we didn't have a washroom close. Children and women don't NEED a washroom to have an good experience. If you teach them you NEED such a thing to have a good experience chances are they never ever will.

If you have to go #2 go to the Gilford General store , there's also the 2 gas stations at 89 and young St Your best bet

I didn't fish at all but we all had a good experience. I spent all day taking one kid or other then the wife 5km. back and forth to the store to use the washroom!!

I did land up at Innisfill Beach Park and they do have portable toilets near the ramp and were in good shape for the ladies to use. The main washrooms were locked and I believe they are only open for the summer - according to the website anyway.

I bought a pop up shelter just for that reason....wanted the wife to join me more and have privacy for her to pee.... If the kids need to go #2 then buy one of those port o pottys......about $20 bucks for a camping version.
