Do people eat fish of bay of quinte since the walleye there canoe in from Lake Ontario The water entering the BoQ comes from the north, the Trent-Severn system. The fish that migrate in and out of the BoQ from Lake Ontario generally stay at the east end of the lake. Hamilton Harbour is very static in terms of water coming in or going out. There is run-off from the escarpment that comes down from all sides of it but because it's only connection to Lake Ontario is the lift bridge. The pollutants in the bay just sit and do nothing. There are areas within the bay that are known chemical dump sites. Along with toxins from the business's there was also a time where PCB waste was dumped in there as well. They have been trying to remediate it for many years. Slowly but sure it's getting there. It's mentioned in the Ontario Guide to eating Fish available from the MNR.

You ask for a place to catch walleye that is under 3 hours away. You tell us you have never caught a walleye. I give you a spot less than 3 hours away where you can catch lots and it's to far!!

Hi,
You may want to try Kahshe lake in Muskoka, I have never fished it but have heard of good Pickerel in the lake.
Good luck, let us know how you make out on your Pic. hunt.

Sort of off topic but I hear that the walleye possession limit on lake nippissing is only 2 fish.

You are 100% correct! The limit is 2 but that doesn't matter at all. The slot size makes it so you have to catch about 200 walleye to get 2 keepers. Only walleye over 18" can be kept and there aren't many around but there are 1000's and 1000's of them between 12' and 17". I am going again on Monday morning and I will let you know how we do!!!
