Perhaps as icefisherman we can generate some money and give it away to people that need it . Pay it forward .

Ill be fishing the Perchin for MS tournament which is basically a fundraiser for MS research. It's a fun tournament but i don't think many people are there for the payouts. I try to get as many people that I know who are willing to step on the ice to sign up as well.
In my opinion if you are filming your "good deeds" you aren't really doing it to be a good person, it's just to make yourself look good.
Take the bill & melinda gates foundation since inception given out 36 billion with no fanfare most people dont even know about it.

I would say that was a very generous thing of you to do Peter and a very unselfish gesture as well.

When i let you and your family use my boat for the day , did i do it to make my self look good or was it a nice thing to do ? It was a super nice thing to do peter, im not talking about you sorry if i made it seem like that. Im talking all these videos that people make of themselves giving out gift or things especially around xmas time post it to facebook, twitter instagram etc. "look at me look at how good i am and the good thing i did" Alot of them do it for attention/views for themselves and not so much for actual charity, especially when commercially produced, if you spent more on production than was actually donated...then it was just an ad. When i donate to charity i dont need a sticker or a poster to tell other people I did it, I dont care if anyone knows, I did it to help. As long as they get the help they need the rest doesn't matter. But thats just me

i kinda see your point, though it is nice to spread the word for the simple reason that it may encourage others.
i had a HS teacher who said do people actually ever do anything for a purely altruistic reason? we all feel good when giving to charity, etc, is that the true reason we do it?
