Hey Peter, I know it's a touch n go kinda year, but what do you predict for ice into March? I've been in Central America since just after New Years and get back on March 10. Would be nice to hit the ice once, but I mean... I can't complain.

This year its hard to predict anything but you’ll be fine March 10th , huts must be off the ice on the 15 so enjoy your time on Cooks Bay , ice fishing capital of the world ….

Family day I had this father and son as guests, the little boy was so cool, about 5 with the longest hair, he was very shy at first, his dad told me he would watch all my video reports when he got home from school, the little guy even new who zac is , for me this is my payoff for doing what I do , no money could ever give me more satisfaction then the boy liking my stuff . by the end of the day he was chatting up a storm , personality reflected from his mom and dad .
Thanks little man , nice meeting you and your dad

Awesome post Peter. Professionals like yourself can have a huge impact on a child's life. I took my boys out with fellow that rents huts out of Port Bolster when they were that age for their first trip to Simcoe. That was 10 yrs ago and they both can recount all the details of the experience still today and laugh about it all. They even kept the little handouts they got on their bookshelves to this day. This is how you plant the seed for the future of the sport and business of ice fishing. You probably made a new little friend for life.

Was told the other day by Dave that if the night temps stay cold the ice should be good til mar 15. The shoreline is the question, was still a safe place to cross yesterday that Peter marked with cones.(thanks Peter for all ur hardwork). Keep checking til u go

hey peter. I want to add to the chorus of folks thanking you for your hard work out there trying to keep us safe and informed. the first weekend of safeish ice me and a few buddies headed out at 2nd line and were into perch all day, mostly dinks but still a good time nonetheless. you have done a great service for fishing and fishermen who want to use the resource as safely as possible!
I know you have my business when my daughter is older and wants to do some perch fishing, you got a great spot and great work ethic and sharing your knowledge is very much appreciated.!
I wish you a safe and happy remainder of the season!

Hey guys. I'm thinking about heading out from 2nd line tomorrow. Does anyone know what the ice is like out there. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and tight lines to all.

Hi all Great job again on this board. I'm making my first trip this year to Gilford Friday. How is the snow on the ice for walking and is it safe to drive on yet. One of our group has an inured leg. Thanks in advance

Peter, considering that your shelters are booked for the weekend, you think it's safe to go on the ice with +5C +7C temps? Will the shoreline be ok?

Guys we had the exact same weather two weeks ago and the ice held up, weve now got two or three more inches of ice then before the last thaw. The ice will likely be wet by the end of the day fri then it's supposed to get to zero fri night then up to plus three again Saturday, ice will likely be wet again at the end of the day and early afternoon Saturday. Shoreline might be iffy but use your brains and you should be ok. Just my opinion, so take it as you wish.
