Thanks board members and Peter for shoreline report/recommendations for safety. Once the shore breaks loose lots of very tough ice conditions happen. With the crack in the video the shore is breaking away. I'M HANGING UP MY ICE CLEATS. Be safe with YOUR DECISIONS. FORE.....Excuse me but... hey Kessel did you see a Nike 3 go through here?

On another thread the cbfb has downgraded the ice condition's from green to yellow caution meaning if your not sure what your doing , stay home . You still have last ice to go yet and that's what were into now , last ice is for the guy that knows what hes doing and doesn't mess around when its comes to safety .

The good thing is we dont have to believe how much ice is out there , testing with an auger on video the thickness of Cooks Bay ice , we know exactly how much .

This afternoon will give us a better understanding of how the shore line is after a day of the sun beating down at it . Soon that shore line will give us no option but to call it a season , our days are numbered , only experts in the fine art of last ice need apply for the last couple days before its all over .

Hey Guys fished this afternoon and took the route as posted by Peter, Went south and could not find anything other than tiny perch. Was hoping for some Crappies but in any case Im calling it a season.
IMO, one out past the crack ice is good and solid, however, the shoreline is soft i felt it moving as I walked and broke through a few steps in ankle deep water. Tomorrow will be interesting, staying tuned...

I was out today. Managed a handful of jumbos for a meal. The shoreline wasn't too bad this morning but coming off of the ice at around 7pm was pretty difficult. The sun was beating down all day and caused the top 3 inches of ice to turn to slush. The cracks near the shoreline have gotten very weak. We had a few heart pounding moments getting off of the ice. After the high temps and rain that we are going to get tomorrow I wouldn't suggest to anyone that its a good idea to go out on the ice. Please be safe everyone. I consider myself an experienced ice fisherman and I'm calling it a season as far as cooks bay is concerned. Cheers!

Morning Peter. I just want to say thanks for doing a great job keeping everyone informed about Cooks Bay. Although I didn't make it down to Cooks I have enjoyed your reports and found them very valuable through out the season.
Thanks. RR
