Besides "crabby Joe", it's a shame the few operators and yourself(Peter) cannot get along at the ices edge. Wouldn't it be splendid if you guys could get your guests on their way in the mornings, then share a coffee and a few laughs.... Maybe some constructive criticism..... Whatever it may be...... It's a free lake to offer services from! Why can't we all just get along!

Its not the operators that’s the problem however thy should of contributed to the cost of the washroom I paid for , it’s the locals that reside near the end of the road that’s the problem .
Being the first operator utilizing the end of the road, the rest of them are there for only one reason , that reason is this board .
I even moved my office from were it use to be as I found it to embarrassing to have to deal with the bs and what operators offices goes were , again I was the first office at the end of Gilford Rd , smack right in front , when others arrived I moved to the side as I new it was the right thing to do , I know its not my lake and I know there’s room for all .

Peter isn't that guy with those kids that were running their sleds last year like they were "Profeeional" racers? And also had the ice rink on the lake. I seen them fly by ppl within like 40-50ft away from them. They would do like 40mphs out and in left and right. They didn't care who was in their way. And Legend said it right.. But this board dose not promote violence to anyone. But if I was bringing in your hut I personally would of drove right by this guy with a big "hi and wave" Nothing gets revenge better than smiling and waving at someone that is already mad. Like you said also I can vouche for all the drama I have seen personally in the last couple yrs helping you with your huts. Its like a big "cut throat" game over there. Anyways the season is pretty much over and soon the boats will be out. Well at least hopefully by "May" lol Play safe flip

Hello everyone. I would like to share an experience I had to-day at the same spot Peter had his problem a few days ago. I am a friend and customer of Peter's and my brother and I were in the executive hut for a few days this week. On exiting the ice this morning we became a bit entangled in a snow drift. The first person to the scene was a young fella with a shovel. The second was Peter with a shovel (Peter probably would have been first but he was further away). We weren't stuck to bad just needed a few minutes shoveling out the high spots that hit the undercarriage. Then a 3rd, person is on scene, it's a lady with a camera from the same property as Peter's day of conflict. She says we are stupid for going on the ice and thinks it's funny we were stuck. I think the real issue is they want a quiet little place with no traffic. Really though that does not make sense either because they sell minnows. Maybe you have to buy their minnows or they don't like you. I know there is way more to this story than I will ever know, but from personal experience I find that Peter is doing nothing but help Gilford's economy by helping anyone , anywhere ,anytime, with fishing !!! The lady I met to-day is some kind of a crack pot and I am sure not trying to do anything positive for her community! Thank you for your help Peter and young helper. I hope you like the new pictures to add to your photo album crazy lady !! Seriously though Peter your inbred comment about them might be a little to flattering.

What I don’t like is I don’t bother anyone but yet some people make me a part of there life weather I like it or not , im being forced to interact with people I don’t want to interact with . How do you avoid when someone jumps in front of you ? when the cops knock at your door ? called the by the people you don’t want to know . I seem to give life to individuals in town that have nothing in there life’s other then me as there topic of conversation .

Simcoe being a navigable waterway, the first 5 meters of their beach is not theirs either. At least they cannot deny access. What happens out on the lake is none of their business. They have no control over it. Chin up Peter, Remember the world has far more horses a$$es than horses.

As a buisness owner myself i kind feel your pain. It is just people who are jelous of someones sucess. Its always easier to have rude or tough comment then to just get alone. This is a winter sport that attracks people to the community. Its a no brainer that cooksbay is a hotspot for fishing. The fact that some of the operators dont get along is understandable, after all they are your competors, but play nice.
One suggestion is to move your outhouse close to where you have your huts set-up, this way its money you pay for your clients. This way its out of the way for the non members.
As far as the locals close to the acess point, Gilford, 89 and so on. They are missing out on an amazing opportunity to cash in on this short season. Owning property that close to access points is a crazy chance to make money. They are to dumb to see it or not interested. If not interested dont get mad that someone else is out there working there ass off trying to make a living. Instead of working together they are more inclined to fight it out, not smart.
They should all be thankful that you draw people to the area. Your concern for ice safety and day reports are great for everyone who is into the sport. Dont let these people get you down, at times it might feel your work is not appreciated but it is. For every 5 headaches there is 1 good comment, its that one that keeps you going strong.
Anyways I am talking to much.....

I had a out house out by the huts, the one on shore was for the ice fishing community in general . On many occasions guests from other operators used the washroom however no offer to contribute from anyone of them that set up at the end of Gilford Rd . Thanks for the support..

HI Peter we've never met but I've been a long time lurker and a member for a bit. You seem like a great fellow , always helping anyone on the ice that needs it. Shame that you have to deal with people like that on a regular basis. I got the same treatment from what I think was the same house last year march 29. A lady came out swearing, telling us were stupid for going out and if we touch her land she LL call the police. We were just, overly, nice told her how, great it was to talk to her and, hope she has a great day.She swore at us again I'll be out there next week and, untill the end trying, for a,monster pike Hope to see you then

I know that lady and she is a real C^NT!! Absolutely miserable lady that is on some huge power trip for no apparent reason. Sorry to hear about te others you have had to deal with but don't worry, karma's a birch! And could be why she can't hold a job good luck with the rest of the season buddy!!

Hey buds, its me barny...thickice's bro. Peter, today's vid is golden!! Anyone like to know what's up on the bay? Today's vid will answer that question for you...watch it if you already haven't. The Executive looks sad sitting on the shoreline. Peter, thank you for providing the Johnny on the spot at the shoreline this winter...much appreciated. The locals will never all be happy at once. That is a rather unfortunate fact. Disrespectful individuals (eg. arriving in Gilford to go (ice) fishing, truck doors open, Timmy cups spill all over the side of the road, foul language...OUT LOUD....,three or four big humans exit the vehicle and take pisses all around the truck, many times on private property..may we suggest windshield wiper jugs, empty Fleecy bottles etc. at least the tip of yer' dick will be sanitized and smelling fresh). This type of disrespect has given all ice fisherman a bad name, to some. In certain cases, I feel the local's pains. Somebody parks in front of my house, gets out and takes a piss, I'm not amused either, because I come from the city and you live in the country, resident's of Gilford are supposed to accept this peculiar behaviour? anyways... Peter identifies this problem, rents a port-a-potty for the winter, puts it accessible for all to use....which one of any of you , or your friends or family used Peter's Potty this winter?..put up your hands!! did any one of us, the other operators, minnow sellers, semi-mobile food carts, locals who park cars on their property making some pretty good un-declared cash $$$, Ministry of Natural Resources, ANYONE?? offer Peter a nickle? Did Peter expect to be re-imbursed? No, he did not. He did this act of random kindness for the good of EVERYONE. My Dad fished Lake Simcoe long before I did. Everyone got along. The locals embraced the influx of visitors and the boost to the economy. I know this ice fishing industry has been alive for a long time. Peter has helped to change Gilford's identity. This fishery is known worldwide now. Anyone who thinks Peter's WEBsite has anything to do with this please say....STAY SAFE AND CHECK CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU GO.... The lady on the shore is getting what I think, she wants. Notoriety, recognition, attention, the state of being known for some unfavorable act or quality Synonyms: ill fame Does this sound accurate to those who have had the undeniable pleasure of meeting this lady? Leave this mentally unfortunate soul to her own means. Please do not discount the fact that many humans ARE mentally deficient. Smother her with kindness and understanding, can't hurt right? Three nights of fun and alot of perch. Thanks to everyone for making sure thickice and I were safe and assisting us with gettin' off. Several more weeks of good fishing this year everyone.

Sooner or later the unstable lady that likes to challenge will rub someone that is more unstable the wrong way and a Darwin award will be awarded.
Hang in there Peter you're doing a great job and many people appreciate it. Don't these other competitors require a vendors license to limit overexploitation and friction. Dan o.

It's sad there are some home owners can be pretty mean, I can for see the north end if the lake being closed to all ice fishermen ,the reason is and I have witness this myself a million times, guys with there sleighs and atv ravening up there engines at 5 and. 6 in the morning, tons of garbage left every where . If we as fishermen don't start working together so many locations will be closed .
Please say something to these guys make them realize it's going to hurt us all if they don't stop
