Any lawyers out there? My question is is the firm that did the sale for my mother's residence responsible for disbursements, meaning did they have to cut me a check on closing ? I negotiated a settlement in regards to the percentage that my brother and I work to receive, as a note on the file I took less, and gave him more, because I know financially he needed help, this was negotiated and signed at the lawyer's office the same lawyers that my brother used to close the sale for my mother's house, so the question is is the lawyer responsible for the disbursements? I had my own lawyer to protect my interest however his firm ended up being useless , they called me up after the fact and told me the house was sold and that I'd have to sue my brother to get my cut, I kind of look at that as negligence , took money from me without providing service

Sorry for your troubles Peter but the estate executor with the estate lawyer would do all of that & some of them are shady!!!

You are correct however the law firm being the trustees of the estate, i did appoint my brother the executor of the estate ,I also did negotiate the terms of the estate signed off and witnessed in the lawyer's office, so the question is is the firm responsible for distributing the funds according to the terms of the estate settlement negotiated? Or are they negligent in giving all the funds to my brother ?

Now that my health seems to be improving and my blood pressure is going down, I just made my brothers law firm he used as well as my lawyer that I used to protect my interests responsible for the negligence I have suffered and at no fault of my own

I want to see what you guys think I have reflected the events leading up to the sale of my mother's home, my brother and I came to an understanding and an agreement, my brother's lawyer wrote out the agreement, one document was the agreement between my brother and myself, the other document agreeing my brother being the executor , both these documents were prepared by my brother's lawyer, all I had to do was show up and sign both agreements just as my brother has done, based on the facts my brother's lawyer had no intentions of honoring the agreement between my brother and I, my brother signed off on his share I signed off on my share, it was my brother's lawyers responsibility to honor the agreement, when the house sold the lawyer for my brother didn't honor the document for who gets what all he cared was my name on the document for the agreement indicating my brother being the executor, question, is the lawyer liable?

Update
So the scoop is my complaint has been lodged with the law society, it's been a couple of months I should get some paperwork back from them soon, anyways I can look at this as how my brother Albert couldn't make it in this world and had to take advantage of his younger brother in order for him Albert to make ends meet, something that I should be proud of in an effed up way. Bernie Madoff had the biggest Ponzi scam in the world but he didn't rip off family, Albert took from me everything he could get his hands on including my inheritance, what kind of person does that ? to family ? I guess if you have no money and time is running out as far as Albert's business prospects, you steel from your family and have no conscience in doing that

Sorry to hear that. I've experienced weird stuff in my own family when it comes to inheritance. People you would never expect go squirrelly when money is involved.
