Hi folks! That time of year again... As always, my reports are NOT meant to be taken as "GO no GO". I only report on what I observe. You make sure that your ventures out on the ice are safe based on the conditions the day you go out.
South end of the bay has iced over. Gail from hotbox huts reported a couple of days ago that the bay has locked up all the way up to her lake access.
About 50 yards out, it was frozen over for a week now I would say. The rest froze over late this week.
Seen a couple of guys chipping away a couple of days ago, but didn't stick around to find out how thick the ice was. Based on the temps and time it has been frozen, I don't think it would be more than a couple of inches max at the older ice.
Tight lines and be safe out there!!!

Hmm... Wondering how much penetration he gets with a hit off that "spud"... Seriously? A stick to check the ice???

A LOT of people and toys on the ice today! In 6-8 feet of water, the ice is 5 inches. And thicker closer to shore. Spent a couple of hours fishing with my son and only caught one small one. Great day to be on the lake! photos.app.goo.gl/f4L1YDBvGfebBXZk8
