What is needed here is a Cook's Bay Anglers Association that not only educates local anglers on regulations, and conservation, but acts as a voice for our common interests (continued access to the lake). This issue has gotten way out of hand, and nobody is representing the anglers, or businesses that depend on fishing for their livelihood. I promise you that if we don't speak out now, there will be no access to the lake left in Innisfil. I've tried talking to the mayor about this but he blew me off. An anglers association could act as a voice for our concerns. If we went to the mayor and said there are 300 voting anglers that are not happy with your management of this situation, it would get noticed. I'd be willing to start up this project if I knew I had the support of the local anglers. U sound really passionate about this. Like that. Where do i sign ? Well, if I get enough support for this idea, I will see what I can do. Yes, I'm passionate about fishing, and losing access to the lake really worries me

Being on the water it should be marked as a navigation hazard. Someone on a snowmobile could run in to it after dark. I wouldn't want that law suit.

BINGO!! Well put bp. The bleeding hearts along that shoreline right up to Orillia will praise this moron's "art". IMO he is in test mode - he'll have something contrived bigger and better next winter. If he goes bigger the outflow of that fountain will erode the shoreline in both directions. It is a legal entrance to the Lake, but legal means nothing to him. I live 1000' away from the Lake. My wife and I have been here for better than 25 years. We've seen the turnover of people purchasing houses on the lake. And with the new owners they bring this my sh*t don't stink attitude. There was a time we could walk down to the end of our road and onto to the lake, then walk along the shoreline (in the water) for miles. Nowadays we get the odd homeowner racing out of their houses demanding to know who we are and (I'm not making this up)that we were walking on "THEIR PROPERTY". We are smart - smarter than them - by laughing and continue walking. If we had a confrontation - these people resort to calling the OPP - they have on others in the neighborhood - for sure we'd have the cop's at our door. I've posted this before on the forum: When the Fed's turned over L Simcoe to the township's in the 1950's - the good old boy's who were in power were clueless, stupid and arrogant. They lacked future vision and today you see the results of their ineptness. And how would I know that - cause I worked hard 55 years ago pushing handbills into people's faces asking them to demand the politicians open the waterfront for all to enjoy - for 50 cents a day I might add....lol - The Result - Windsor's waterfront became a reality - cause of one man's VISION. That was circa 1960. That was then, this is now. The local politicians in these township's have done little to encourage people to enjoy the lake. Why? Cause there hands are tied by the mistakes of the past. How clueless were they then (50's, 60's) to allow construction of "vacant land" and issue Building Permits for houses right next to small access points with zero parking, few if any garbage bins and no enforcement. The mistake back then was a serious lack of Vision into the future of how they wanted to shape there little kingdoms (townships) - think people - Houses = Taxes, and that's the route they took. The SW and W public accesses of Lake Simcoe are forever lost. (My reference to "lost" - access for people, space, and enjoyment without paying $$ for the privilege.) To be very fair - Their are a few exceptions - Orillia being one ( that is Free of charge). I'm probably forgetting a few others, but certainly not many. I have NO Apologies for this rant......... h
